DAY 1 DAY 1 - ENCHANTED ICA EXPLORATION: UNVEILING VINEYARDS AND TRANQUIL OASES

Embark on a remarkable journey from Lima to Ica, an enchanting destination filled with unique
attractions and local delights. Visit Hacienda San Jose in Chincha to explore the region's

colonial history before immersing yourself in Ica's vibrant culture, enjoying its pleasant weather,
culinary scene, and famous wines.
The Tacama Vineyards tour provides a genuine glimpse into Ica's winemaking legacy. Witness
the meticulous crafting of fine wines and Pisco during a comprehensive 2-hour visit. Notably,
Tacama Vineyard, established in the 1540s by Francisco de Carabantes, stands as South
America's oldest vineyard, influencing grape cultivation in Chile and Argentina.
Relax at our accommodations in Hacienda Queirolo, nestled among vineyards, offering an
unforgettable evening and a serene morning wake-up surrounded by nature's beauty.
Included: Lunch at Tacama.
Accommodation: Hacienda Queirolo

In the morning, we drive to Pisco Airport for a scenic flight over the mysterious Nazca Lines, one
of Peru’s greatest archaeological enigmas. These massive geoglyphs, created over 1,500 years
ago, stretch across the arid desert and depict animals, plants, and geometric patterns, some
measuring over 300 meters in length. As we soar above them, you’ll gain a unique perspective
on their scale and precision, a feat that continues to intrigue researchers and travelers alike.
After the flight, we’ll enjoy a delicious lunch featuring authentic Peruvian cuisine before heading
back to Lima.
Meals Included: Breakfast & Lunch.
Accommodation: Lima's Hotel.

After a hearty breakfast, we will drive to Lima airport, all set to catch a flight that will whisk us
away to the incredible city of Cusco.
Once we gather together at the airport, we break away from Cusco and descend into the
Sacred Valley of the Incas. While still at a considerable altitude, 2800m (9290 ft), spending our
first day in the Sacred Valley is a good way to acclimatize, allowing our bodies to adjust to the
potential dizzying heights of the Andean mountain range.
On our way to Urubamba, we will stop at Pisac to spend some time walking around its unique
and artisanal market, where we can appreciate or buy the different crafts that are handmade in
this town.
After Pisac's wonders, enjoy lunch at Hacienda Huayoccari. Explore the on-site museum in a
stunning landscape for a memorable experience. The hacienda welcomes travelers to flower-
filled patios, orchid-filled terraces, and rooms adorned with art. Dive into traditional hospitality in
a Cusquenian family's home.
Experience an exclusive Peruvian Paso horse demonstration, learning about horse dynamics
and riding safety, adding a unique dimension to your visit at Casa Hacienda Huayoccari. Note:
This service is not included in the standard program.
Later, we'll head to our hotel in the Sacred Valley. Relax, relish good food, and savor the
surroundings."
Meals included: Lunch at Hacienda Huayocari
Accommodation: El albergue hotel Ollanta or similar , Sacred Valley Hotel.

Today, we embark on a journey to unique Peruvian sites. We hope to catch glimpses of the
majestic snow-capped Urubamba Mountain range as we travel.

Our first stop is the town of Chinchero, for a warm welcome. This town is traditionally known for
its specialized weaving techniques and unique handmade textiles. Here you will see and learn
about the art of Peruvian weaving using home-spun wool with dyes made naturally from native
plants, a true feast for the eyes. We also have the opportunity to go shopping supporting these
fabulously talented local weavers.
Then by car we go towrads the Salineras de Maras, the natural but mysterious salt pans that
cover the entire side of a canyon made of red clay. To reach the site we will follow a dirt road
through plains rich in agriculture, with examples of the best Andean agriculture in the midst of
some of the most impressive landscapes in the Andes, imposing mountains that provoke
wonderful sensations of freedom, nature and spirituality. The Salineras have been in continuous
operation since pre-Inca times. Marvel at the ingenuity and practicality of the terrace system, as
you are mesmerized by the simple beauty and brilliance of these pinkish-white salt pans; it is a
site to behold.
After a wonderful and tasty picnic lunch, we will visit the circular Inca ruins of Moray, an
extraordinary experimental agricultural site. Four natural crater-like depressions are lined with a
series of concentric circular terraces that get smaller as they disappear into the earth. This is
believed to be one of the "Green Houses" of the Incas, where they experimented with the
different temperature zones or microclimates (created by the terraces) and developed new
varieties of staple Andean foods.
Then we continue by car to the Sacred Valley to end up at our hotel located in the historic town
of Ollantaytambo. We deserve a good rest to be ready for the next day.
Meals Included: Breakfast & Picnic Lunch.
Accommodation: El albergue de Ollantaytambo

In the morning we will take the train from Ollantaytambo train station to Km 104, where the short
Inca Trail starts.
The valley turns into a canyon and the scenery begins to alter as the cloud forests appear on
our approach to the Machu Picchu Sanctuary. We will disembark the train at Km 104 and start
the hike along a quite challenging uphill path.
This ancient Inca Trail takes us uphill all the way to the magnificent archeological complex of
Wiñay Wayna, from where there are many steep steps to climb to reach the upper part of the
Archaeological Site. Here we find a fabulous sense of peace far from the crowds. with superb
views of the imposing verdant mountains and native orchids. The trail now becomes gentler,
continuing all the way to the Sun Gate, where we arrive to Machu Picchu through its real
entrance. It is from here that we will have our first glimpse of the Machu Picchu citadel. We then
cross the site to take the bus down to Aguas Calientes town and check in to our lodge to rest
and relax, in anticipation of a full afternoon tour tomorrow.
